Step 1 (To be Eligible to Take the State Salesperson Licensee Exam):
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Hold a high school diploma or its equivalent
Fulfill ONE of the Following Requirements:
- Complete MREC approved pre-licensing courses before test date
- Be a licensed attorney
- Be granted a one time sitting for the Missouri Real Estate Examination by the MREC
- Granted if you have been a licensed salesperson or broker in another state for 12 of the last 18 months before the test date
Step 2 (To be Eligible to Take the State Broker License Exam):
- Have held a Missouri salesperson license for 2 years
AND Fulfill ONE of the Following Requirements:
- Complete MREC approved pre-licensing courses before test date
- 48 hour Broker Course in a classroom/online
- Approved courses available through Real Estate Express
- Be a licensed attorney
- Be granted a one time sitting for the Missouri Real Estate Examination by the MREC
- Granted if you have been a licensed salesperson or broker in another state for 12 of the last 18 months before the test date
Step 3 (After Obtaining a Salesperson and/or Broker’s License):
- Broker’s Licenses expire on June 30 th – even numbered years
- Renewals are mailed in late April
- Salesperson Licenses expire on September 30th – even numbered years
- Renewals are mailed in late July
- Verify that your address is correct for your renewal to be mailed
- Use Licensee Search feature on the Missouri Professional Registration website at www.pr.mo.gov
- Education Requirements:
- Take the Missouri Real Estate Practice course if you have not already completed it
- Only take the Practice course ONCE
- Complete 12 hours of continuing education
- 9 hours of elective credit
- 3 hours of core credit - minimum
- Approved courses available from Real Estate Express
- Submitting Renewals – to Include the Following:
- Renewal application
- Education completion certificates
- If you have lost your certificate – contact your education provider for a new certificate
